A trustworthy breakdown service

Ascendit’s strength lies in our excellent response to breakdowns. We are very aware of how people rely on their lifts, so we will usually get an engineer to attend the same day, but certainly within 24 hours.
Our team of skilled engineers is our own – we don’t use contractors so we know the installation, repairs and servicing is being done to our own high standards.

How the breakdown service works

A number is provided for you to report any problems 24 hours a day.
Between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday it will be answered by our head office staff. If your lift can’t be used, we will send out an engineer to assist within 24 hours or the same day if possible.

Outside these hours, your call is diverted to a manned answering service who will relay details of your call to an on-call engineer. He will then contact you to discuss the problem. Out of hours calls will be attended to as quickly as possible. However we do not guarantee to attend during the late evening or at night except in the case of a genuine emergency, to be defined at the on-call engineers discretion.

Snagging problems, i.e. details that need attending to but are not urgent, will be dealt with as soon as the engineers’ schedules permit.

Our staff will always try to talk through the problem with you first, since in many cases it can be resolved over the ‘phone. Often the power supply has been mistakenly switched off.

Warranties – new and secondhand lifts

All new lifts come with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty covering parts. We back that up with our own free breakdown and repair service. It does not cover accidental damage – this cover can be obtained through your household insurance.

All secondhand lifts we supply come with our own 12-month parts and breakdown warranty, entitling you to use our free breakdown service in that first year. Again, accidental damage is not covered.

What happens after the warranty has run out?

Towards the end of the first 12 months, we will send you a courtesy letter reminding you the warranty is running out and including our current prices for servicing and breakdowns.

Your choices are:

1. Take out an extended maintenance agreement with us for the second year. This will allow you a service at the beginning of the second year (which is recommended) and 12 months’ further parts and breakdown cover. This can be renewed annually.

2. Arrange the recommended annual service for a one-off fee. Pay our call-out charge plus cost of parts if your lift breaks down or is in need of repair in the course of the year.

We would like to advise customers that we do have to give priority to customers who take out maintenance agreements when it comes to arranging emergency call-outs. This means we can’t guarantee to attend in a given time, although of course we will do our best to attend as soon as we can.

Not covered under warranties or maintenance agreements

Interruption to the power supply is not covered by our warranties or maintenance agreements. This includes power cuts and the equipment being switched off mistakenly. It is always wise to check, or have someone else check, the power supply before you call us out.

We do not cover accidental damage, and defects arising from improper treatment.

Please call our office on the freephone number above or 01293 785185 for current prices for servicing, emergency call-outs and maintenance agreements.
