If your stairs turn
or bend, you will need a curved stairlift that will have to be custom
made to your individual requirements. That is the why these types
of stairlifts cost so much more than the straight-track ones. Guide
prices are: from £4,000 for new stairlifts (installed, exclusive
of VAT*) and from £3,500 for second hand lifts (installed,
exclusive of VAT*). The tracks on curved lifts are never reconditioned
or re-used - just the chair and the carriage.
If your stairs simply have a ‘fan’ at the top, it may
be possible to fit a bridging platform in conjunction with a straight-track
stairlift . This can be determined with an on-site survey.
If a curved track is the only option, we offer the Stannah 260.
This is a really well-designed lift that slows automatically on
tight bends to give a totally safe and comfortable ride. Installation
can be completed within a day.
